Recent VBS1 Enhancements |

The soon-to-be-released VBS1 Convoy Trainer module adds new features to the product:
Enhanced armoured vehicles (15.7 mb) - shoot out of hatches, shoot from the turned out position.
Enhanced B vehicles (11.2 mb) - freely move around on transport trucks, engage enemy from cargo positions of light vehicles.
Enhanced air transports (15.5 mb) - move on and off transport vehicles in a realistic manner.
VBS1 Instructor Interface (21.9 MB) - a powerful tool that adds the ability for users to create and control entities in real time - from Platoons of units through to UAVs and IEDs. Also allows selective respawn of human players. The movie demonstrates creating and controlling a convoy and a car-mounted IED, and also a UAV.

Artillery Module released! |

Bohemia Interactive is pleased to announce the release of the VBS1 Artillery Module (AM).
The Artillery Module adds depth to the VBS1 battlespace by introducing artillery units and features. The AM covers land-based indirect fire assets: mortars, towed and self-propelled howitzers, and MLRS. It is capable of simulating most standard types of firing missions, from simple Fire For Effect calls to complex SEAD missions, and recreates a wide range of munitions from white phosphorus to laser-guided and sensor-fused rounds.

US Army Pack to be released soon |

Following comprehensive user feedback, Bohemia Interactive will soon be releasing a new after-action review solution for VBS1. A new stand-alone application, MARS,
has been developed that allows complete replay functionality seperate from VBS1.
BI will bundle MARS, AAR3 and VERV in the near future for sale in the online shop.

VBS1 Patch on the way |

BI will soon be releasing a patch for VBS1 containing a range of fixes following customer feedback. Fixes include additional
difficulty settings to make combat in VBS1 more realistic, an improved fatigue model, user-customisable multiplayer group
names and additional scripting commands.

Introducing VBSOS |

VBSOS (Virtual Battlespace Operating System) is a new administrative tool developed to assist in the management of networked VBS1 sessions. It provides security (restricting access to the wider file system of a host PC), a natural GUI (simple and intuitive), automation (assisting with software upgrades and record keeping), individualisation (participants are able to maintain their own profile) and roaming (profiles follow users as they move from machine to machine).

VERV release approaches... |

VERV - Virtual Environment Replay Visualiser - will soon be released as an companion product to the VBS After Action Review (AAR) Module. Whereas the AAR allows VBS1 scenarios to be recorded and replayed within the simulation, VERV is a stand-alone tool that replays recorded files externally to VBS1.
VERV is a powerful AAR and analysis tool designed for military users of VBS1. Contact BIA for more information.

NBC Module |

A new NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) module is under development that simulates a majority of the NBC tools and instruments available today.
The module includes a wizard to assist NBC instructors in building realistic training scenarios, and a new Observer feature allowing instructors to change scenario elements in real time (wind direction, level of contamination etc).

VBS1 Customers have exclusive access to additional high quality
models and packs via this site. Released this month has been a wide
variety of free add-ons including Delta Force Recon Units, Ground
Crew Units, Saboteur Units, Opfor Captive Units and an Opfor Objective.
In addition VBS1 dust, fire and smoke generators have been released.
